Commonwealth Games gold-winner (Delhi 2010) Katulu Ravi Kumar finished a disappointing sixth in the men’s 69kg category on the third day of Senior Asian Weightlifting Championships at Pyeongtaek, South Korea yesterday.

Ravi Kumar lifted 311 kg (141kg in snatch and 170kg in clean and jerk). China’s Shi Zhiyong of China won gold with a total lift of 324kg (144+180), while compatriot Liu Weihuang won the silver with an effort of 324kg (144+180). The result was a big blow for India’s chances of grabbing a London Olympics berth.
