Real Madrid's in-form defender Sergio Ramos yesterday announced that his partner Pilar Rubio has given birth to a baby boy.

And the Spain international has named his first child with Rubio, a television professional, after himself.

The 28-year-old wrote on Twitter: "We would like to share with you our joy and happiness for the birth of our first child, Sergio Ramos Rubio."
Life on the pitch too could not have been better for the Real centre-back, who has been on a goal-scoring spree recently.
He scored a header in last week's draw against Valencia. This, after scoring two headers earlier against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semis.
