What about Netaji?
PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia has pleased many, but displeased one. He is Anuj Dhar, India’s one-man army in a perpetual quest to find out about Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Now that it has been conclusively proved that the iconic freedom fighter died in a Siberian prison, Dhar is pushing thousands of his supporters — over 80 per cent from Bengal — to ask Modi why didn’t he ask Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the site where Bose was cremated. Modi, obviously, has not responded. And a disgruntled Dhar and his followers from Bengal have taken it as “a typical Centre’s response to Bengal’s long-standing demands”.

Ma is important
The one news that did not surface during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Pakistan was the Indian PM’s interaction with his counterpart’s mother. Modi instantly touched her feet — considered a rare act in Pakistan — and sought her blessings and Shamim, who was born in Amritsar in undivided India, was pleasantly surprised. The ageing woman then kissed Sushma Swaraj on her forehead, asking her to normalise relations between the two neighbouring nations, even saying it was her life-long dream to see the two nations as peaceful, not warring neighbours.

No clearance, Mr Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wants to set up a commission of enquiry in what he calls huge financial irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDC) but he has run into a firewall. The man opposing the move is none other than his old rival, Delhi Lt Governor, Najeeb Jung, who has said a permission for such enquiry can come only from him or the Centre and that he has not made up his mind whether it should be carried out. Frustrated, Kejriwal wants to share his pain with reporters. A mega lunch has been planned for reporters, and 50 have confirmed.

Final word
Ever since the bust up involving FM Arun Jaitley has hit the roof in the Indian Capital, one question hovering in the minds of millions: When will the team of BJP veterans, called the Group of Margdarshaks, write a much-awaited letter seeking Jaitley’s scalp? The letter, many claim, is almost ready, waiting to be signed.
