A morning walk proved to be fatal for Goregaon resident Narayan Nandan (63) as a dumper on BMC duty accidentally ran him over. Nandan succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot.
Nandan, a resident of Link Palace on Ciba road, Goregaon (East) was returning home from his morning walk at 10 am when the accident took place. The driver was reversing the dumper on the slope when it ran over Nandan. A watchman, who witnessed the accident, said that Nandan was walking in the opposite direction and was unaware of the dumper behind him. Unable to escape, he was crushed under its wheels.

He will be produced in the Borivli court on Friday.” Devastated by the incident, Nandan’s son Jayesh said, “We will make sure that the driver is punished for his mistake. His negligence has caused my father his life.”
