Rajasthan, resuming at 43 for one in their second innings, were dismissed for 275 with left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh taking a four-wicket haul. The reigning Ranji Trophy champions had made 253 in their first innings while ROI declared at 607 for seven on the third day of the match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Rajasthan were no match for ROI, who won their seventh Irani Cup in a row.
Murali Vijay played a marathon knock of 266, helping ROI amass a huge score in the first innings. The other major contributions came from Ajinkya Rahane (81), Cheteshwar Pujara (78), Subramaniam Badrinath (55) and Dinesh Karthik (56).
Umesh Yadav was the star for them on the opening day, picking-up a five-wicket haul as Rajasthan’s Robin Bist ran out of partners while batting on 117.
Bist carried his good form into the second innings even as most of the Rajasthan batsmen struggled. He made 67 while captain Krishikesh Kanitkar was run out for 73.
