Asked what motivated him to take the role, Nawaz said: 'Mere paas toh koi option nahi tha, muzhe toh karni hi thi yeh film. Meri sabse pehle casting hui thi. (I had no option but to say yes for the film. I was the first one to have got cast in the film).'
'I was looking forward to playing a romantic role and this film came my way, which was a big thing for me and I instantly grabbed it,' he added. Meanwhile, the actor is enjoying the unique turn that his film career has taken, thanks to the roles he played in 'Kahaani' and '...Wasseypur'.
'I am really happy that I have entered the industry at a time when a lot of things are changing, new filmmakers are coming up, and co-incidently I have joined the movement too,' Nawaz told IANS. 'The little roles I did earlier have given me confidence to play the solo lead,' he added.
He was here Monday to promote his forthcoming film 'Chittagong' along with co-star Manoj Bajpayee, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and director Bedabrata Pain. 'Chittagong', which has been waiting to get released since 2008, will now see the light of the day Friday.
