S Mumbai man killed in shootout with father,brother

Property row between father and sons took an ugly turn on Friday afternoon when they opened fire against each other in a fit of rage.


Keshavrao Bhosale (65) was admitted to Bhatia hospital with a bullet injury wound to the right arm, while his two sons Rajesh and Ganesh who sustained multiple injures and were taken to Elizabeth hospital.


Ganesh was declared dead soon after admission, while the condition of Rajesh is said to be critical.


Preliminary inquires reveal that the father had called in his two sons to his flat in Peshwa society, Malbar hill to discuss the property row. They had lunch together and around 2.45 pm they were having a casual discussion, when soon the conversation turned into a heated argument and in a fit of rage they removed their weapon aiming against each other, said a family member who did not wished to be named.

"The property row between the father and sons were going on for a long time, but we never anticipated such an end," said Keshavrao's wife waiting outside the causality ward of Bhatia hospital.

The family is yet to learn about the demise of Ganesh. "I know he is critical, but I cannot leave my husband at present," she said.

Meanwhile the Malabar hill police have rushed to the hospital and have started the probe. A case under various sections of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act will be registered against the Bhosale's soon.

A doctor at Bhatia hospital told MiD DAY that Keshavrao was brought in a conscious state to the hospital around 2.45 pm. He sustained only one bullet wound and his condition is stable as he was being operated.

Meanwhile hospital sources from Elizabeth hospital told MiD-DAY that an operation on Rajesh will be performed soon after the required blood was arranged. His condition though critical is said be out of danger.

Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Mohite said, "We are yet to record the statements of the injured and eyewitnesses. The case is being probed from all possible angles."
