Sachin Tendulkar was the one and only name that was surrounded by all the hype in the Baramati city of Pune on Wednesday. Baramati is located 120 kilometers from Pune.
The Indian cricket maestro was present at Baramati, which is also the bastion area of NCP chief Sharad Pawar, to inaugurate the new Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar cricket stadium.

A friendly T20 match was also organised between Mumbai and Maharashtra to celebrate the occasion.
Besides Sachin Tendulkar, Indian ricketer Ajinkya Rahane along with NCP chief Sharad Pawar, MP Supriya Sule, Mumbai Cricket Association president Ajay Shirke, Baramati Mayor Yogesh Jagtap and other dignatarious also attended the inauguration ceremony.
While addressing the crowd, Tendulkar said, “This really is a great initiative by Sharad Pawar and he has looked into all aspects to encourage young cricketers. This ground will be a strong base to help cricketers from rural areas who live far awat from the city with no money for travel to polish their skills and become better cricketers. I still remember days when we used to practice in the heavy rains with no proper cricket grounds. I worked hard during my practices sessions and groomed myself as a player. I am happy that this stadium will be of great help to many aspiring cricketers in the coming years.”
Sachin Tendulkar was given a warm welcome by the local residents of Baramati city for this event.
