Saina had on Sunday thrashed Sarah Thomas of Wales 21-5 21-9 in the pre- quarterfinals to reach closer to her first Commonwealth games gold.

All Indians had an easy outing on the second day of the open events here at Siri Fort Badminton Complex in the CWG 2010 yesterday.
Aditi Mutatakar defeated Sri Lanka's Dhananayake 21-14, 21-8. The only time Indian contingent had problems, was in mixed doubles, when the scratch combination of Rupesh Kumar and Ashwini Ponappa were stretched to full three close games by the Australian pair, Veeran and his sister Vithiveeran. The Indians won 21-16, 18-21, 21-18.
