Sallu and I set the screen on fire: Kareena

Post her marriage with Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor has been basking in the glow. And it’s not just because of the honeymoon period. Thanks to the positive buzz about her latest film Talaash, Bebo is in seventh heaven. She talks to us about playing a streetwalker twice in her career, her item song opposite Salman Khan and life post marriage.

Was it easy playing a commercial sex worker twice?
It’s so spooky that I played the same character twice in the span of 10 years. Though Rosie was a more mature performance.

Looking forward to your Swiss honeymoon?
It is not a honeymoon in that sense. We visit Gstaad at the end of every year. It is one of the most relaxing times to visit Europe. It is like our annual holiday.

We heard Salim Khan (Salman’s father) called you after seeing Talaash?
A few encouraging words from veterans like him can work wonders for your self-esteem.

You are Sallu’s item girl in his next...
Salman and I will just set the screen on fire. He has known me since my childhood and when I last met him he was teasing me about how old I have become. He pointed out how I’m already married and he is still single.

Is it true that you signed Prakash Jha’s next only after seeing what Raajneeti did to Katrina Kaif’s career?
My body of work speaks for itself. Do you think I need a pretext to work in any film? I choose the films that I like.

What’s Saif saying about Talaash?
He is in Lucknow shooting with Tigmanshu Dhulia. So he will see my film much later. He is looking forward to it as he loves Aamir and thinks very highly of Reema Kagti (director).u00a0
