Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has been training offenders in a gymnasium in a UK jail, according to his father.
Speaking exclusively from Lahore, Zulfiqar Butt said, "my son has been assigned to impart training to other prisoners in jail."
Butt, it is learnt, has been made the gymnasium in-charge. However, an official of the Canterbury jail, said that all offenders are allowed to go to the gymnasium.
"We cannot reveal activities of the individual prisoner, but I can confirm that all offenders are allowed to attend the gym at the same time. It is a free service offered to prisoners here," the official said.
Butt is jailed for 30 months for charges relating to spot-fixing, along with fellow team mates Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif.
Facilities at the prison include a gym, astro-turf pitch, kitchens, education and workshops. A visitors' centre for social visits is open on every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
