Why is Salman Khan promoting B-Town newcomer Pulkit Samrat? The star even attended his debut film’s music launch recently. Apparently Sallu and the newbie have a common link —-Shweta Rohira. The name may not ring a bell, but Shweta is Salman’s rakhi sister at whose behest he attended the audio release event.

Moreover, there has also been speculation about Shweta and Pulkit for long. The two have been spotted together in malls and restaurants, though the duo prefers to keep their relationship under wraps. There has been buzz in the past that the two are engaged/married but the actor prefers to be mum about his personal life.

Surprise, surprise!
Says a source, “Everyone was surprised to find Salman’s name at the film’s music launch invites. The idea to have Salman to launch the music of Pulkit’s debut flick was Shweta’s idea. She coordinated it with him and was spotted escorting Salman to the venue.”

Three years ago, Shweta, who is into holistic sciences, wrote a book The Start Of The New Beginning on Pulkit that captured his journey from Delhi to Mumbai to be an actor. The book also dealt with spirituality and healing sciences as Pulkit himself is into reiki and self-hypnosis — subjects of interest to Shweta. But as there were no takers, the book was unreleased.

Pulkit, who featured as Lakshya in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, was also part of Fauji which Shah Rukh Khan’s production house were remaking.

Adds the source, “Shweta has been with Pulkit since his television days. She has seen him struggle to find a foothold in Bollywood and now that it is happening, she wanted the best for him. The reason she roped in Salman at the launch.”
