After unveiling 'Tubelight' teaser on May 4, makers of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's upcoming film have launched the first song titled 'The Radio Song' in Dubai today.

Director Kabir Khan went the extra mile to shoot 'The Radio Song'.
After shooting amid beautiful natural locations in North India, Kabir Khan wanted to shoot 'The Radio Song' in a town square typical to those in the 1960s. The team went on a recce in and around to find a town which was untouched by modernisation. Since they were unable to find an apt location, he decided to construct it in Mumbai itself. Kabir was adamant on the set looking authentic right to the minute details, hence the team converted three acres of Film City into the fictional town Jagatpura. The Radio song was shot there with over a 1000 dancers.

The track, which is a celebratory song in the film, had been shot on a very large scale. It has the touch of the 60s and required a huge crowd to be dancing on it. Kabir had organised for 200 dancers and about 800 juniors to be part of the song along with Salman Khan.
'Tubelight' first teaser was released on May 4.
'Tubelight' is a war drama set amidst the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-China War.
After blockbusters like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tubelight' is Salman Khan and Kabir Khan's third film together.

Slated to release on Eid this year, 'Tubelight' also features Salman Khan's younger brother Sohail Khan and Chinese star Zhu Zhu. 'Tubelight' also has a special appearance by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. 'Tubelight' marks the late actor Om Puri's last Bollywood outing.
Yash Raj Films (YRF) has bagged the overseas distribution rights -- excluding Middle East and North Africa -- for 'Tubelight'. This is Salman Khan Films' first collaboration with YRF for the overseas territory.

Salman Khan's 'Tubelight', however, might not release in Pakistan around the Eid as a few local filmmakers and organisations have demanded the release of the film in the country be put on hold.
The Pakistan Film Distributors Association and the Pakistan Film Producers Association, along with various local film-makers, are actively trying to stall the release of 'Tubelight', citing better business for the Pakistani films scheduled to release at the same time.
Shooting for 'Tubelight' had ended in February earlier this year.
Talking about Salman Khan's performance in 'Tubelight', Kabir Khan had earlier said, "Salman will be seen in a completely different way in the film ('Tubelight'). If people have thought that Salman's performance is special in 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', then his performance in 'Tubelight' is five times better than it. The audience will see Salman's better performance in 'Tubelight'."
