Legendary singer, songwriter and musician, Bob Dylan was recently honoured with the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House by President Barack Obama.

>> Bob Dylan, an American artist, was born as Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941.
>> His songs in the 1960s, like “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin”, became anthems for many in the US civil rights and anti-war movements.
>> Bob’s lyrics incorporated a variety of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences.
>> Since 1994, Bob has published three books of drawings and paintings.
>> In August 1962, he legally changed his name to Bob Dylan, and signed a management contract with Albert Grossman who remained Bob’s manager until 1970.
>> Bob dropped out of college at the end of his freshman year. In January 1961, he travelled to New York, hoping to perform and visit his musical idol Woody Guthrie.
>> In July, 1966, Bob crashed his 500cc Triumph Tiger 100 motorcycle near his Woodstock home, New York, breaking several vertebrae in his neck. Apart from a few select appearances, Bob did not tour for almost eight years after that.u00a0
