After months of pain and anguish, the three kids finally reached home. The 12-year-old girl and her two brothers were sexually abused for about 18 months by the driver of their school cab and his associates.

When the matter came to light, the victims were sent to LNJP hospital for over a month and were later shifted to the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences in Shahdara for counselling. The children have finally returned home after MiD DAY published the travails the family was going through.
The victims' mother was concerned as other violent patients at the sanatorium were allegedly attacking the kids. On two occasions, guards were injured while protecting the children.
"We were allotted a room but were surrounded by violent mental patients. Security guards escorting us have suffered injuries while saving us from some patients but the hospital doesn't care. I was worried whether my kids will be safe here so we were allowed to go back home," she said.u00a0
"Finally I am back with my kids at home but I am still worried as my kids have bad memories from the incident. They have tender minds, so I want them to forget everything and live normal lives like other kids. I am not sure whether they will be able to attend school this year but we will make sure that they get back into the mix soon," she added.

| The station house officer and investigating officer of Prasad Nagar police station who were probing the case in which a 12-year-old girl and her two minor brothers were allegedly raped and sodomised have been suspended. Since the story broke, the victims' mother, along with social activist Subhash Nagar, who played a crucial role in getting the case registered, have been alleging that the local police was behaving in a partisan manner and was trying to intimidate them so that they withdraw the case. The orders came after Delhi health minister Kiran Walia pursued the matter. |
