Sandra Bullock thought of quitting acting after divorce
Actress Sandra Bullock has revealed that she was so devastated by her divorce that she thought she would quit acting.
The Oscar-winning star said that she was left 'permanently broken' after discovering her husband Jesse James, who had been cheating on her with tattoo model Michelle 'Bombshell' McGee just days after she picked up the Best Actress Oscar in 2010 for 'The Blind Side'.
The 47-year-old star had paid tribute to her husband in her award speech; unaware that he was being unfaithful to her while she was away on location making the film.
Bullock unveiled the depth of her pain while promoting her first film since the scandal. "I was perfectly content to be permanently broken," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
"I honestly didn't think I was in a place where I wanted to work or wanted to step out of where I was. I wasn't prepared," she said.
Bullock said that she was persuaded to return to acting by director Stephen Daldry who wanted her to appear opposite Tom Hanks in the drama Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.
Hanks plays a victim of the September 11th terror attack on the Twin Towers in New York with Bullock as his grief stricken wife. Bullock said she was grateful to Daldry for helping her re-start her career.
