Sunrise Sports Club's Sangram Bagul is on song. The 29-year-old right-handed batsman slammed his third consecutive ton in the 'B' Division of the Dr HD Kanga Cricket League to help his club take the first innings lead against Kandivli CA yesterday.
Riding on Bagul’s unbeaten 100, Sunrise SC posted 277-3 before declaring. Tushar Armarkar (4-71) and Arun Yadav (3-12) did well to restrict Kandivli CA to 197.u00a0
Bagul, who was part of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad for a match in 2007, has scored two half-centuries and three centuries in this Kanga season.
Pawar punch
Meanwhile, in an ‘A’ Division match, discarded Mumbai opener Kaustubh Pawar scored 89 for Karnataka Sporting Association while his Ranji Trophy teammate Iqbal Abdulla, playing for DY Patil Sports Academy, claimed 3-116. The match, however, ended in a draw.
In the match between Fort Vijay CC and National CC, which too did not yield any result, Atif Attarwala claimed a hat-trick (3-18) while his National teammate Rajesh Pawar grabbed 5-76 to restrict Fort Vijay CC to 262.
Fifer for Musheer
In a ‘G’ Division match, left-arm spinner Musheer Khan, playing for Sportsfield CC, once again claimed a fifer, taking his tally to 30 wickets in seven matches.
