Here is the biggest story from the Bachchan bash. Friends-turned-foes Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta finally took a step towards each other to bring to an end their six-year-old animosity.
A source present at the party says, “It was Sanjay Dutt who took the initiative to put an end to their bitter six-year-old rivalry. When they broke up in 2007, two rival camps were created. Anyone working with Sanjay Gupta would be banned in the Sanjay Dutt camp and vice versa. There were very few in Bollywood who could tread the fine line between the two.”
It so happened that while Gupta was waiting for his wife while talking to John Abraham, Sanjay Dutt called out to him. The actor was accompanied by wife Manayaata and Dutt and Gupta then hugged each other and even stopped for a chat. Dutt confirms this and states, “Saare gile shikve ab door ho gaye! We have had a long-standing relationship ever since he was an assistant. I hugged him and said ‘I miss you’. I don’t think that the emotions we shared in the past have died.”
When asked if the two are now planning to do a film together, pat comes Dutt’s reply, “It is not for any film! I know that a lot of people are extremely happy over this and so am I.” Gupta tells us, “It’s personal but what I can say is that I am happy that all the negativity is now a thing of the past. No one knows what’s in store for the future but I am glad he is back.”
How they met
Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta met on the sets of Thanedar. Dutt gave a break to Gupta with Aatish post which, they formed a production company. They however had a fall-out during the making of Shootout At Lokhandwala.
