Sanjay Gupta's plans to revive 'Alibaug' will have to wait
Sanjay Gupta has already started his plans to revive his long-in-the-making film, Alibaug but looks like he may have to wait a while to rope in the cast of his choice
Sources say R Madhavan, who was part of the original cast for the film, is not very excited at the film’s prospects. Gupta had started work on his film along with Sanjay Dutt back in 2007 but after the duo had a fall-out, the project was shelved. It was only a few days ago when the filmmaker made his wish of starting it all over again public. Maddy was to star in the film along with Dia Mirza, Sanjay Suri and Gul Panag.
Sources close to Madhavan say he is not interested to join the cast anymore. A friend of the actor says, “Madhavan isn’t aware of any development on the film but if it is true he wouldn’t like to be a part of it. The film is very old and wouldn’t fit into the scheme of things he has bean planning for himself. He doesn’t want to revisit the past.” A while back, Gupta had planned to get a body double to act in the film instead of Dutt but that plan too fell through.
