The move comes after Joshi, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's known foe, had to resign from the BJP's national executive in Mumbai last month.
Modi had refused to be a part of BJP's national executive meet, held in May, if Joshi were to attend it.
Interestingly, late last month, Joshi had said in an interview that he will not quit BJP.
