White seems to be the new black these days. CS has been spotting dozens of celebs this week sporting the colour, and doing full justice to it. From gowns to kurtas to shirts to jackets white certainly seems to me making its presence felt on the party circuit. 
Fashion designer Narendra Kumar says, "White always looks elegant. You can wear it to a brunch or a lounge party and you'll rock the show."
Socialite Queenie Dhody couldn't agree more. Queenie, who is known for her style, was also seen at a recent event wearing a white dress. Talking about her favourite colour, she says, "I love it because it's graceful, uncomplicated and not black. And it always makes a statement."
But while Narendra recommends the colour only for day events, Queenie has no qualms wearing it for evening parties too. "In fact I prefer wearing it to night events because it stands out even more since everyone is in black. White makes me feel relaxed, it's simple yet sophisticated," she opines.
Fashion designer Anjalee Kapoor says, "The shade transcends all situations and occasions, seasons, time of the day u2014 everything. It is much sought after these days simply because gowns and ensembles with drape techniques are in. Most of the drape pieces look fabulous in white and black."
But while everyone might want to don white, not everyone can carry it off. Says Queenie, "You need to accessorise it well."u00a0 You could also add colour to it, or team it with chic black sandals, suggests Narendra. But all said and done, if you like the colour, you'll be able to carry it off well, says a matter-of-fact Queenie.
