Scarlett Johansson wants to direct movie
The 27-year-old actress has been working on her own feature film for years, and is keen to challenge herself, reported Contactmusic.
"I would like to direct a feature. I've been developing it for years. It's good. I just want to work on stuff that's challenging to me, physically, emotionally.
I don't want to do anything that doesn't scare me a little bit," Johansson said.
The 'Avengers' actress is looking to play established characters in future movies, and she has her sights set on portraying silent film star Norma Desmond in a remake of 1950 movie 'Sunset Boulevard'.
"As I get older I sort of see that I'm able to kind of move away from characters that are transitional.
I'm now looking at characters - women - that are established and are where they are because of where they came from and have a background," she said.
"Actors are always asked to do things that are absolutely ludicrous, whether you're rappelling down the side of a building or crawling through the woods or fulfilling yourself emotionally.
I want to play Norma Desmond in 'Sunset Boulevard' someday. But I need a couple more years," she added.
