School bus owners call off strike

School bus owners, who were supposed to go on a strike yesterday in the city, called off their stir after much deliberation on Sunday. They have decided to wait a week before taking up the issue again with higher authorities.

Members of the School Bus Owners' Association (SBOA), who have demanded withdrawal of allegedly harsh and impractical security norms, will be meeting the principal secretary of transport this week. They will decide their course of action after the meeting.

After striking work for two days in December last year, they put off their agitation. They had threatened to go on a strike from January 2.
