Scuffle among senior Congress leaders mars Mumbai meet

Senior Congress legislators Naseem Khan and Aslam Shaikh were reportedly involved in a scuffle during a meet organised by the party on Tuesday to discuss Rahul Gandhi's scheduled visit to Mumbai

Noisy scenes marked a meet organised by the Congress on Tuesday to discuss party vice-president Rahul Gandhi's scheduled visit to Mumbai on January 15 and 16. 

There was slogan shouting as those belonging to rival factions tried to ensure that the route of Rahul's rally covered specific areas.

Senior party legislators Naseem Khan and Aslam Shaikh also reportedly indulged in a scuffle during the meeting.

Congress MLC Bhai Jagtap, however, refuted such reports. 

The two legislators also denied having indulged in any altercation.

Sources said that Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to meet leaders of Mumbai Regional Congress Committee during his two-day visit to the city.

There is also a possibility of his interacting with students on the line of his interaction with students in Mount Carmel College in Bangalore in November last year.
