On her maiden trip to India, American talk show queen Oprah Winfrey's visit to this holy town today was marred when her bodyguards were involved in a scuffle with journalists.

On her maiden trip to India, American talk show queen Oprah Winfrey's visit to this holy town today was marred when her bodyguards were involved in a scuffle with journalists.


Three Indian bodyguards were arrested following the incident in which some video cameras were allegedly broken following a complaint filed by media personnel covering Winfrey's visit. No one was injured in the incident, police said.

The bodyguards were later released after they wrote a letter of apology to the media, police said. Two American securitymen and a dozen bodyguards from India were part of Winfrey's entourage when it reached Vrindavan.


She is in India in connection with a shoot for her new show 'Next Chapter'. Earlier in the morning, she filmed a documentary on widows and also took part in a 'bhajan' at the ashram situated in Patthar Pura.

Winfrey was greeted by top-notch Indian socialites and Bollywood glitterati including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai at a private party in Mumbai two days back.

She is currently travelling around the world interviewing celebrities, newsmakers and others for her new show. She is also due to particiapte in the Jaipur Literature Festival.
