Security officer finds live ammunition from passenger at Mumbai airport

One live ammunition of 7.26mm caliber was detected by a security officer during security check at inline baggage system at level 4 from Mumbai Internatinal Airport Pvt. Ltd. (MIAL) on Sunday

One live ammunition of 7.26mm caliber was detected by a security officer during security check at inline baggage system at level 4 from Mumbai Internatinal Airport Pvt. Ltd. (MIAL) on Sunday.


The passenger Amar Phadtare was immediately questioned about it. Phadtare was supposed to fly by SG 438 (Bangalore- Mumbai- Amritsar- Srinagar) to Srinagar. The flight was scheduled to depart at 10.10am on Sunday and land at it's final destination at around 2 pm.


However, it was later confirmed and verified from Srinagar that Phadtare is a jawan serving the Indian army. The Airport police officials vereified all the credentials before letting the the passenger continue his air journey.
