Sehwag was first dropped from the Test squad after failures in the first two matches against Australia. He was recently excluded from the list of 30 probables for the Champions Trophy in June.
Sidhu felt Sehwag has a couple of years of top-class cricket left in him. “Sehwag is a phenomenon. He is a miracle (man)… nothing is over (for him). Show me one batsman who started playing at No 7 and ended up opening the innings and scored 25 centuries at an average of over 50. Has anyone done that till date?
“Sehwag is an impact player and a match-winner for India. He is not finished. He still has a couple of years (of international cricket) ahead of him. It all depends on his self-belief,” Sidhu said on the sidelines of the launch of his online avatar ‘Sherry on Topp’ at a city hotel yesterday. Legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan were also present for the event.
