He was then told that regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni had been suspended for one Test match due to India's slow over-rate during the third Test here, which ended inside three days.
"Yes, we knew we were short of the over-rate," Sehwag admitted before enquiring whether Dhoni's suspension was made official. "Okay, now we are in a critical situation, but we all will have to try hard to make it 1-3 in Adelaide," Sehwag said.
Meanwhile, reserve wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, who will take Dhoni's place behind the stumps, indicated that he is up to the task. When contacted at his hotel room, the young Bengal wicketkeeper said, "We are in a peculiar situation with the captain out of action for the next Test. I have been practising hard and will give my best," Saha told MiD DAY.
The defeated members of the Indian team went out to dine at a restaurant called Balti, a 15-minute walk from their team hotel.
