Virender Sehwag will undergo a fitness test today to assess his availability for the World Cup quarter-final against Australia.
Sehwag missed out on the final league match against the West Indies in Chennai on Sunday due to a knee injury.
The Delhi swashbuckler's absence allowed middle order batsman Suresh Raina to make his World Cup debut while Gautam Gambhir opened the innings with Sachin Tendulkar.
Pathan goes?
However, should Sehwag be ruled fit, Yusuf Pathan would make way for him. Otherwise, the Indians are expected to retain the XI that played against the West Indies.
The team was expected to have a meeting to discuss the results of Sehwag's fitness test before leaving their hotel for the ground. India are tipped to beat Australia today to make the semi-finals against Pakistan in Mohali on March 30. India has never lost to Pakistan in a World Cup fixture.
