Sellebrity FC and Dadar XI won their respective semi-final matches to set up the summit clash in the Div I of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League yesterday.
In the first match, the Dadar side overcame a determined challenge from Guru Nanak Sports Club to sneak through by a narrow 2-1 margin, at the St Xavier’s ground, Parel. Alex Ambrose and Nishant Mehra, both veterans, scored a goal in each half for Dadar, while Selvin Pannier scored the lone goal for his team.

Later, Sellebrity FC showed solid fighting qualities to recover from a one goal first-half deficit and storm to a 3-1 win over West Zone United. Abdur Samad opened the scoring for West Zone in the 21st minute. But Sellebrity regrouped and came into their own in the second half, which they dominated and struck thrice through Zeeshan Tharia 61st minute, Subodh Khandagale 68th minute and Daniel Fernandes 71st minute to clinch a deserving victory.
The finals are scheduled to be played on Sunday at 4 pm.
