MLC Neelam Gorhe and Uddhav's personal assistant Milind Narvekar freed after surrendering before court
Shiv Sena leaders Dr Neelam Gorhe and Milind Narvekar, accused of criminal conspiracy and inciting violence during the Pune bandh on Tuesday, tried to put up a brave face yesterday when they surrendered in the Shivajinagar court with a horde of supporters around them.
Member of Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe and Milind Narvekar, the personal assistant to Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray, were granted bail on a personal bond by the Judicial Magistrate (First Class) R L Wankhede court here.

have always presented the truth to the people of Pune and now we will prove the same in the court
of law too.
We will complete this process first."u00a0 Narvekar however refused to speak to the media. Completing his bail formalities, he immediately left for Mumbai.
Bailable offence
Gorhe reached the Shivajinagar court premises at 2.30 pm and went directly to her counsel advocate Shrikant Shivade's office.
At 3.15 pm Shivade submitted the surrender application of Gorhe and Narvekar in the court. Narvekar also reached and appeared before the court in person.
Judicial Magistrate Wankhede granted judicial custody to Gorhe and Narvekar, immediately after which Shivade moved the bail application. The court then granted bail to both the accused.
Shivade said, "Although Section 120(b) of the Indian Penal Code is a non-bailable offence. The
principal charge against Gorhe and Narvekar was Section 153, which is a bailable offence. So the court granted them bail."
Fourteen corporators from the Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who had played havoc and damaged the Mayor's cabin and the PMC house, were also produced in Shivajinagar court. They too were released on bail by the court.
Need time: PMC
The PMC did not file its say yesterday regarding the removal of Dadoji Konddeo statue from the Lal Mahal. Advocate Dr Sureshchandra Bhosale, representing the PMC, said in court, "We do not want to prolong the matter but PMC is a public body and deserves time. Since we have to collect references, we need more time to file our say."
Civil Judge Padvad extended the deadline to January 3. The court will decide on Friday about the 56 third-party applications submitted by different individuals and organisations.
