Fire brigade officials said that the creaky mud walls of the old wada led to the collapse. Residents allege that the incident took place because the owner did not allow them to repair the old wada. The deceased has been identified as Thakubai Kashinath Shilimkar (76). Residents of the wada said that three other members of the family had a miraculous escape.u00a0

Pravin Kakade, tenant of the same wada told MiD DAY, "We came to know about the incident when we heard cries of Dattatray Shilimkar, Thakubai's son. After Shilimkar told us about his mother, we acted quickly. Within minutes Thakubai was removed from debris but she was in an unconscious state."u00a0
