Candidates taking the public service exam in a Chinese province were stumped by one question: "Are you satisfied with your sex life?"

Many said they couldn't understand the purpose of the personal question and wondered why they had to answer it, People's Daily reported on Friday.

"What is the relationship between my sex life and the public security job position that I applied for," asked Wang Li, a candidate from Chengdu in Sichuan province.

Others said they had to answer the question very carefully because they feared it was connected with basic information they had submitted before.

"If I submitted the information saying I was not married and then answered that I was satisfied with my sex life, will the judges erase my name from the job list because I have had premarital sex," asked one puzzled candidate.
