This Kat’s finally out of the bag. If rumours are to be believed, the actress has emerged on top of the list of contenders for the female lead role in Farah Khan’s next film starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Katrina Kaif

Sources say Katrina Kaif has beaten the trio of Ankita Lokhande, Jennifer Winget and Simran Kaur Mundi to secure the role. And apparently the actress bagged the film after her dates cleared up with her other movie opposite Hrithik Roshan pushed back to later in the year.

Our source says, “The casting director of the film had already finalised the other three ladies. But with Hrithik going for his sudden brain surgery, the equations changed and Kat came on board. She is completely free for the next three months.”

Apparently, SRK had also happened to mention to Farah that he preferred an established actress opposite him in the film. And with Deepika Padukone’s diary being full, Kat was roped in. An insider says, “The film is going on the floors from September 5 onwards and since they want around 40 days from Katrina, she can easily shoot the film through September and October.”

The initial talks have apparently already taken place and Kat will sign on the dotted line on her return to Mumbai. Katrina is currently holidaying with her alleged beau Ranbir Kapoor in Sri Lanka. Both Farah and Kat remained unavailable for comment.u00a0
