Locals were spotted yesterday climbing Vaijanta War Tank, the Shaheed Smarak outside Mumbra railway station, to pose and click pictures on top of the tank, , which was used in the 1971 war and placed outside the station in memory of Major Manish Pitambare, who laid down his life for the country.

Local MLA Jitendra Awhad was the one who got the tank established here. Asked if people could climb the tank, he said, "It's unethical on anyone's part to climb the tank. It's there for people to regard from a distance."
