Kolhapur: NCP chief Sharad Pawar will be honoured with this year's Rajarshi Shahu Award for his contribution to public life, officials said on Monday.
Pawar will be presented the award on June 26, the birth anniversary of Rajarshi Shahu, Kolhapur district collector Amit Saini told reporters here. 75-year-old Pawar is a former Union Minister and has also served as Maharashtra Chief Minister.
BSP chief Mayawati and playback singer Asha Bhosle, among others, include the previous recipients of the annual award, given by the Rajarshi Shahu Memorial Trust.
The award comprises Rs one lakh, a letter of honour and a memento, said Saini, the president of the Trust.
