In all, the agency raided 10 homes across Mumbai, Goa, Chhindwara, Kolkata and Guwahati
The CBI spread its search for evidence in the 2012 Sheena Bora murder case across five destinations, raiding the houses of the three prime accused — Sheena’s mother Indrani Mukerjea, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyam Rai. In all, the agency searched 10 spots — three in Mumbai, two in Goa, one in Chhindwara, three in Kolkata and one in Guwahati.
“We found incriminating documents,” said a CBI officer, adding, “We raided the houses in Kolkata, Guwahati, Goa and Mumbai, belonging to Indrani and her husband Peter, as well as her ex-husband’s home in Kolkata. We also searched the local residence and native residence (in Madhya Pradesh) of the driver, Shyam Rai.”
Meanwhile, a court has extended judicial custody of the three accused till October 31. The CBI took over the case from Mumbai Police last month and now has a month to file the chargesheet.
