Another celebrity jumpedu00a0into political battle. The election - in the newly created Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency - will be a star-studded affair as country's two big film and TV personalities, both from Bihar, are likely to lock horns. Congress has announced Shekhar Suman as its candidate against BJP's Shatrugahn Sinha.

Suman said, "Yes it is true that I am going to contest the LS election from Patna Sahib against Shatrughan Sinha. I will be filling the nomination papers on April 9."

The new constituency came into being after delimitation. The former Patna Lok Sabha seat was split into two - Patna Sahib and Pataliputra. Some parts of the now abolished barh LS seat now form part of Patna Sahib seat.

"We are going to give Sinha a run for his money. Shekhar Suman is surely going to give Sinha tough fight," said a senior Congress leader. Suman's family confirmed his willingness to contest from Patna.

What makes the star war interesting is that both Sinha and Suman belong to the Kayastha caste, which dominates this constituency. Patna Sahib is a predominantly urban constituency where out of 16 lakh voters, over 12 lakh live in urban areas.
