Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard Gurmeet Singh aka Shera has given a written complaint to the Juhu police, alleging that he was being threatened and more than six people had tried to assault him on the night of October 26. The police have been investigating the matter and are in the process of gathering evidence, after which an FIR will be filed.

Reasonable doubt
The complaint from Shera comes after an FIR was filed against him in DN Nagar police station for allegedly threatening the complainant, identified as Athar Umar Qureshi, with a gun and breaking his collarbone.

The DN Nagar police investigating the case have found the complaint against Shera not supported by electronic evidence.

An officer from DN Nagar police station said, “Following the complaint by Qureshi, we started an investigation, followed by the process of gathering CCTV footage. However, the claims made by the complainant in his statement were proved false, with the CCTV footage not supporting his narration of the incident.”

It wasn’t me!
The 25-year-old had told the police that Shera had pointed a gun at him and assaulted him, breaking his collarbone, following an altercation, which landed him in hospital.

The DN Nagar police had registered a case under sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 506 (2) (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Arms Act against four people, including Shera.

However, Shera had denied his role in the matter and told the police that he was at a restaurant for dinner and had then gone home in Oshiwara. He confessed to having spoken to Ajay over the phone but denied being at the crime scene.

A senior officer said, “There were a few people who tried to chase Shera’s car right from Juhu till Andheri and even tried to force him to stop by blocking his way, but he didn’t stop. From the CCTV footage, it looks like these people had planned to beat up Shera. However, the reason is yet to be ascertained.”

Following the incident, Shera filed a complaint with the Juhu police, who are now investigating the case.

Senior inspector Sunil Ghosalkar said, “A written complaint has been received. The investigation is on.”
