Shilpa Shukla does a Mumbai darshan

It is difficult to not fall in love with Mumbai, no matter where you might come from. And actor Shilpa Shukla who hails from Bihar is no exception.

She tells CS about the landmarks that she explored in amchi Mumbai while shooting for her upcoming film that is based on an infamous area in the city of dreams:

Uptown girl
There is no place like Malabar Hill. Driving to town on Sundays is now becoming a hobby. South Mumbai has so much character and life. Even the weather is better in the town, for some strange reason.

Spiritu-Ali inclined
There is something about Haji Ali that draws me to it, and I can't explain that feeling in words. I still remember the first time I went there, there was a high tide and the waves were covering the entire path that leads to the mosque. It's unfortunate that I didn't have my camera with me, but if I did, I would have been able to capture the most awesome and divine moment of my life.

More of Manori
I didn't know half of Mumbai until last year. Though I have been living in Kandivali for over four years now, I had no idea that Manori was just 20 minutes drive from my home. Manori is like a mini Goa cum religious center that boasts of the Global Vipassan Pagoda, an important Buddhist place of worship. I keep visiting it as and when I canu00a0-- to relax and unwind. And my trip is made if I can catch the sunset.

Bandra revisited
Bandra interests me a great deal, maybe because it reminds me so much of Goa. The historic relevance of the place and the Portuguese feel is still so evident when you walk past the old Catholic houses with small crosses and little candles lit in front of them. Bandra transports me to a different era altogether. And like most girls, Hill Road is one of my favourite haunts.

On cloud 7
I love Seven Bunglows because it is so close to home. And nothing beats Pop Tate's - you can enjoy a good meal there while you lounge. But the best part about Seven bunglows is that every other face is an actor, so you are saved from those staring fans. But yes I must admit that it gets irritating at times when you come across some unfriendly industry people. All said and done, aye dil hai mushkil jeena yahan, zara hat ke zara bach ke, yeh hai Bombay meri jaan ufffd

Who: Shilpa Shukla
