Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale on Thursday made a presentation before the BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta regarding Mumbai's air pollution and to discuss ways to bring it down.
Shewale feels that with pollution in Mumbai on the rise there is a need to take adequate steps by the concerned departments to control it and he discussed the various issues invoved in the same with the civic chief.
The presentation identified the factors causing air pollution in the city and recommended measures to curb it.
"The odd-even policy cannot be implemented in Mumbai since it will lead to tremendous load on the already burdened railways. That is why we have recommended measures. One of them was to constitute a committee in the BMC which will directly monitor air pollution. The commissioner was also very positive about it," Shewale said.
