Keeping up with the horror attached to Friday the 13th, which occurs when the thirteenth day of a month falls on Friday (June 13), Shamiana Short Film Club has organised a special screening of five horror short films, this Friday.

Some of the film to be screened at the one-day festival are Love Hurts by Dutch filmmaker Shariff Nasr, Mazaak Mat Karo by Indian filmmaker Ravi Iyer, Cupidity by Mark Nunneley from the US, Glani by Indian director Tagveer Singh, and an animation short film titled, Reaping For Dummies.

Love Hurts revolves around the protagonist Windy who is recuperating from a heartbreak. Mazaak Mat Karo on the other hand is about a radio jockey with a supernatural twist to the plot. The latter was produced in 2012 as part of the 48 Hours Film Project’s India chapter.

“We were a team of few with no plot, no budget and completely no idea about the genre. We had to make the film in flat two days,” says Iyer, recollecting the making of the film. He adds that the lead character in the film is played by real-life RJ Prince.

On: June 13, 8 pm onwards
