“While having dinner, Rahul took out a country-made pistol and showed it to everybody. Rahul was clueless about operating the firearm. Though he removed the magazine, he had no idea that one of the bullets was still lodged inside the pistol chamber,” Deputy Superintendent of Police B R Patil said.
He said that Pawar accidentally pulled the trigger while showing off the fireman and the bullet struck Shinde in the forehead as he was sitting on the opposite side.
“Kishor was hit in the forehead at point blank range and died on the spot,” said Patil. He said while Pawar was arrested and booked under Section 304 (Punishment for homicide not amounting to murder), his friends were detained for questioning. Patil said preliminary investigation revealed that Pawar had procured the pistol from two youths, who hailed from Assam. “We have launched a manhunt to nab the pistol suppliers,” said patil.u00a0
