Pune: The grade 3, Pune Bookmakers' Association Turf Club Trophy is slated as the prime event for the Sunday card at Pune, and 15 top class runners will go over the trip of 1,400 meters for stake money of Rs 1.5 million, of which Rs 9 lakh will go to the winner. Interestingly, four of the 15 hail from trainer Pesi Shroff's yard, and all of them--Adam, solomon, Your Royal Majesty & Apache--have the ability to excel over the seven-furlong trip.
The challenge to the Shroff quartet may come from Colombiana from Malesh Narredu's stables. The Faisal Abbas-trained Holy Smoke, who will be bidding for a straight sixth victory, and Renee, who has been ambitiously pitched in the fray by Bangalore schooler Neil Darashah, are likely to add pep to the finish.
My choice is for the race is Adam.
