Shubh murder accused in police custody till Oct 1

The prime accused in the kidnap and murder of five and half year old Shubh Bhupendar Raval was remanded in police custody till October 1 by the Sessions Court yesterday.

15-yr-old involved
The 15-year-old minor who was with Parmindar Swarn Singh at the time of planning the crime was detained in the case, produced before the Juvenile Court and sent to the observation home in Shivajinagar.u00a0

Parmindar kidnapped Shubh, the son of scientist couple with ARDE and HEMRL respectively, and strangled him and later dumped the body on the hilltop of Pashan on Saturday night.u00a0


Crime exposed
The crime came to light after a search operation was launched by residents of the area and the frightened minor accomplice revealed what had happened.

Assistant Police Inspector S B Jawale, who is investigating the case, produced Parvindar before the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) K M Pingale, for seeking police custody.

Act of cruelty
“The accused hatched a conspiracy to kidnap Shubh for ransom amount of Rs 5 lakh. However, when the boy started shouting and trying to run away, the accused assaulted him, strangulated him with a handkerchief and threw the body in the dense vegetation on the hill. Parmindar’s custody is required to investigate whether there is any other person involved in the case, besides the 15-year-old minor boy,” said Jawale.
Assistant Public Prosecutor A K Pacharne said, “The police have to investigate the motive behind the murder.”u00a0
