Sid Mallya's debut film, 'Brahman Naman', is not just premiering, but also competing in the World Cinema dramatic competition at the Sundance Film Festival in the United States.
The film is directed by Calcutta -based Q, a familiar name in the indie circuit having caused a stir with films like 'Tasher Desh' and 'Gandu'. The film is produced by Steve Barron who's other comedies include Dan Akroyd's 'Coneheads' and 'Mike Bassett - England Manager'.
The movie's plot is centered around the quiz scene in India in the early 1980s and is a t teen comedy in the vein of the British hit 'The In-betweeners' from 2011. The film has Sid in the key role with Shashank Arora of Titli fame as co-actor.
Sid is currently completing his degree at The Royal Central School of Drama in London.
