The temple’s trust is anticipating a crowd of over 20 lakh people today. They said that since Saturday they have seen more than 1.5 lakh visitors every day, more than the usual number of 40,000 per day. And keeping in mind the growing number of devotees, the trust has also increased security measures at the temple in order to avoid any incident.

Over 1,000 policemen have been deployed at the temple for Tuesday and the number of closed-circuit television cameras has also been increased. Officials from the temple said that they have additionally increased the entry and exit points to the temple, which will be manned by the police.

On regular days, the temple has 80 private security personnel and 100 policemen manning the crowds, but owing to the increase in the number of devotees in the past three days, they sought the police’s help.

One of the security guards managing the crowds said that the last three days were very difficult for the officials as they were finding crowd control to be almost impossible owing to the shortage of manpower. However, anticipating a massive rush, security has been increased.

Satish Mali, spokesperson for Siddhivinayak temple trust, said, “Anticipating a crowd of over 20 lakh, we have made all the necessary arrangements. We have also set up different pandals for women to avoid any untoward incident and ensure their safety.” u00a0
