Summer vacations are still on, and there's no better time to sign your kids up for a fun camp before schools reopen. The getaway, organised by camping company Big Red Tent (BRT), is open to children aged between eight and 14 years. "We started out in 2009, but introduced exclusive camps for kids only last year. We've held two summer camps, and a winter one so far," says Harsh Valia of Big Red Tent.

The company has five campgrounds scattered across the state, in locations such as Kolad, Karnala and Lonavala. The upcoming camp will be held at the Vasind campground.

Here, kids will learn to rough it out a little as they pitch their own tents and learn to survive in the wild. There will also be night trails, a treasure hunt, yoga, and art sessions. They will also tuck into wholesome meals throughout their stay.

"The aim is to inculcate a natural lifestyle in kids through games and personality development activities. On the night trail, they will learn about the region's flora and fauna, as well as a bit about the sky and stars. There will also be storytelling around the campfire," says Valia.
