Similar designs became the bone of contention between fashion designers Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis, who had showings) at a recently held award function in Sri Lanka. While Malaika Arora Khan was showstopper for Vikram, while Jacqueline Fernandez and cricketer Kumar Sangakkara did it for Manish.

A source close to Manish says, "He was a little upset when people came up to him and asked if he found any similarities between his and Vikram's designs. Even though he kept evading the question, a couple of his friends were heard discussing how he was upset after seeing Phadnis's designs. He felt there were too many similarities between their designs."

When contacted, Vikram denied the tiff and said, "This is not true at all. We had a great show together. I had the themes of Mughal-e-Azam, Sati and Rajasthan. The clothes looked completely different. Its strange to hear this."

Sources confirm that this is isn't the first time the two have had issues. "There have been instances in the past as well when Manish has thought that Vikram's designs look way too similar to his. However, he hasn't ever openly admitted to it."
