Cubbon Park will come alive this Sunday with music as Prakruthi, an NGO, organises a special programme for differently abled children. Film star Ramesh Aravind and his team from Venkata in Sankata will be there to cheer them along
Kannada film star Ramesh Aravind will be the chief guest at this Sunday's music programme hosted by Prakruthi, at the Cubbon Park bandstand.

The cast and crew of Ramesh's latest film, Venkata in Sankata, will also be there to cheer the singers, the audience and the special guests who are over 700 differently abled children from across the city.
Ritwick and Roshan Rajan, siblings who are visually impaired, will perform at the 25th show that Prakruthi has been putting together for the music-loving Bangalorean every week, where entry is free.
Over the last 24 weeks, Prakruthi has hosted accomplished artistes like Mangala and Ravi, Shankar Shanbag, Archana Udupa, Pallavi Arun, C Ashwath, Ratnamala Prakash, Divya Raghavan, Puttur Narasimha Nayak, Ajey Warrier, Jogi Sunitha and Srinivas and Shashidhar Kote.
The group is remembered fondly for giving Bangloreans the opportunity to hear Japanese techies, Takeshi Takubo and Hiroshi Chiba, who took everyone by storm with their spirited rendition of popular Kannada film songs.
This Sunday's event is dedicated to special children of Bangalore and to T N Balakrishna, veteran Kannada actor who passed away recently. Prakruthi has also organised a picnic for 700 differently abled children at the Cubbon Park on Sunday. Games, snacks and lunch are on offer. The day will end with songs by the Rajan brothers.
MS Prasad of Prakruthi is thrilled with the response to the event. "We usually suffer from lack of sponsorship.
But this time we have received generous support from individuals and organisations," he says.
Ramesh Aravind has offered free tickets for Venkata in Sankata to the children. Krishna Murthy, a music buff,u00a0 has offered to pick up the tab for transportation while a real estate firm has come forward to sponsor lunch and snacks.
Prakruthi's members have been working very hard to keep the Sunday evening music programme going. On an average, it costs them Rs 45,000 a week to conduct the concert and invite well-known artistes. "Many artistes perform without charging a paisa because they love the concept. We request Bangaloreans to support us by turning up in large numbers," adds Prasad.
